Albright’s Raw Dog Food of Fort Wayne, IN recalled 67 cases of Chicken Recipe for Dogs due to potential contamination of Salmonella, a bacterial disease that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in people with weakened immune systems.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), common signs and symptoms of a person infected with Salmonella often experience fever, bloody diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

In rare circumstances, the disease can progress to something more severe such as infected aneurysms, which is the enlargement of an artery; endocarditis, which is the infection in the inner lining of the heart; and arthritis, which is the swelling and tenderness of one or more joints.

The recalled product was distributed in CA, FL, IL, IN, NH, NJ, NV, NY, PA, and TN through retail stores, mail order, and direct delivery.

Albright’s Raw Dog Food was recalled after a routine sampling in a later lot of the finished product found the bacteria. Due to this, the later finished product lot was not released and continues to stay in a quarantined state.

In response to this, Albright’s Raw Dog Food has provided information to the retailers who have purchased the recalled product.

Albright’s urges retailers to contact their customers to facilitate the return of the contaminated products.

No other Albright’s Raw Dog  products were affected or involved in this recall.

There have also been no reported illnesses to date.
