Amid Deepening Pandemic the US Surpasses 250,000 COVID-19 Deaths

The United States has now recorded over 250,000 deaths due to Covid-19.

The United States has now recorded over 250,000 deaths due to Covid-19. 

According to the latest data by the John Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, the total deaths are now at 250,898.

There are 170,161 newly reported cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 11,558,241.

New York has the highest number of deaths with more than 30,000 followed by Texas and California. New York has already suspended classes, and will return to distance learning, on Wednesday as cases surge. 

Based on data, there are nearly 80,000 people currently hospitalized on Wednesday. Hospitals are currently overwhelmed as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported a 217.2 hospitalizations per 100,000 population, based on data released on November 7.
