Dutch police reported that several shots were fired Thursday morning at the Saudi embassy in The Hague with no casualties sustained.

However,  a Greek consular employee and a Saudi policeman were wounded during the attack.

“Around 6 AM we received a report that multiple shots were fired at the building of the Saudi Arabia embassy on the #Koninginnegracht in #TheHague. No one was injured. We are currently conducting research. Witnesses who have information are requested to call 0900-8844,” announced the police on Twitter.

The embassy building was reportedly hit at least 20 times and that dozens of casings litter the ground while the windows exhibited numerous bullet holes.

The motive and suspects for the shooting are still unknown, and police have appealed for witnesses.

Police said they closed the roads around the crime scene where forensic teams are investigating.

Presently, the EU is on high alert a series of terrorist attacks in France and Austria blamed on Islamist radicals.
