Europe to Pay Less Than US Will For Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

The European Union has made a deal to pay less for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate than the United States as they had secured an agreement for up to 300 million doses.

The European Union has made a deal to pay less for Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate than the United States as they had secured an agreement for up to 300 million doses.

The experimental drug was developed in Germany’s BioNTech, which is the front runner in a worldwide race to produce a vaccine.

The data has showed that the vaccine was more than 90 percent effective at protecting people from COVID-19 in a large-scale clinical trial.

Under the European Union deal, 27 European countries are able to buy 200 million doses and have the option to buy another 100 million.

According to the senior EU official that was involved in talks with vaccine makers, the bloc will only pay less than $19.50 per jab.

He added that this is due to the financial support that is provided by EU and Germany for the development of the drug.
