Polish Government Threatens Teachers for Participating in Pro-Abortion Protests

The Polish Ministry of National Education announced sanctions for teachers who participated and urged their students to join the pro-abortion protests amid mass civil unrest.

The Polish Ministry of National Education announced sanctions for teachers who participated and urged their students to join the pro-abortion protests amid mass civil unrest.

According to the ministry’s statement on their website, they have asked school superintendents to check whether such situations took place in their region and what was the reaction of school principals to them.

Because the teachers allegedly created a threat during the epidemic and behaved unprofessionally, the ministry warned that they will face legal consequences.

“We also do not agree to encourage children and adolescents to engage in hooligan and vulgar behavior. There is no consent for students to behave in this way,” said Anna Ostrowska, Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Education.

The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek expressed that he is disturbed that some chancellors, some teacher unions did not “condemn this type of hooliganism, vandalism, rudeness and brutality in the streets, but even encourage young people to participate in it.”

Czarnek added that all the most far-reaching consequences that are within the legal possibilities of the ministry and probation offices would be drawn out against the said teachers.
