After a newborn infant was found abandoned at the Doha airport, more than a dozen female passengers were required to do invasive internal exams in Qatar.

The women that passengers on board the Qatar Airways flight that bound for Sydney “had their genitals invasively examined, without their consent.” None of the passengers were told about the newborn child before their investigation began.

Hamad Int’l Airport (HIA) did not deny these claims.

The flight was allegedly delayed for four hours due to invasive examination.

Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade called the mistreatment of passengers on board the Qatar Airways flight as “unacceptable.”

“The advice that has been provided indicates that the treatment of the women concerned was offensive, grossly inappropriate, and beyond circumstances in which the women could give free and informed consent,” Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement.

“The government has formally registered our serious concerns about this incident with Qatar authorities.”
