Coca-Cola European Partners Will Buy Coca-Cola Amatil

Coca-Cola European Partners will acquire Australia’s Coca-Cola Amatil, in a deal that would represent the largest acquisition of an Australian company this year, following the economic caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown measures imposed to contain its spread.

Coca-Cola European Partners will acquire Australia’s Coca-Cola Amatil, in a deal that would represent the largest acquisition of an Australian company this year, following the economic caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown measures imposed to contain its spread.

The European Partners and Amatil are currently in negotiations to close the deal as soon as possible, pointing out that the main goal is to prevent doing it in the first quarter of 2021. The media outlet pointed out that details of the deal, which has not yet been finalized, could be announced over the next few days.

Coca-Cola Amatil has a current market capitalization of $5.54 billion. Shares in bottler Coca-Cola Amatil were halted on Friday afternoon pending an announcement on a “potential material transaction.”

According to Refinitiv data, US-based Coca-Cola owns a 19.11 percent stake in Coca-Cola European Partners, which is the world’s largest independent bottler of Coca-Cola.
