The US Mission in Turkey warned of possible terror attacks and kidnappings against foreign nationals in the country after receiving credible reports.
“US citizens are advised to exercise heightened caution in locations where Americans or foreigners may gather, including large office buildings or shopping malls,” said the announcement from the mission website.
As a security measure, the mission temporarily suspended its American Citizen and visa services at U.S Mission in Turkey’s facilities including the US Embassy-Ankara, US Consulate General-Istanbul, US Consulate-Adana, and the US Consular Agency-Izmir.
The Mission and the US State Department has not yet disclosed any further details or reasons about the threat.
