MEXIMexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador publicly asked United States President Donald Trump to share every single information that American authorities have about the alleged links between Mexico’s former defense secretary and drug traffickers.

During a Thursday night press conference in Mexico City, President Lopez Obrador said “I call the President of the United States and the American authorities to please show us those operations of complicity if they have the proof,” pointing out that only then his government will open its own investigation.

“We can’t allow someone to be judged only for political or other reasons if there is no proof,” the Mexican president said, adding that there would not be impunity for anyone who committed wrongdoing.

Retired General Salvador Cienfuegos was last week at Los Angeles International Airport. American prosecutors released documents alleging that Cienfuegos protected and aided a drug cartel moving cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine to the United States.
