More than 450,000 contact-tracing devices will be given to all local and migrant workers that are residing or working in dormitories, as well as those at work sites that are currently in construction, process sectors and marine shipyards, said the Singaporean authorities on Friday.

More than 450,000 contact-tracing devices will be given to all local and migrant workers that are residing or working in dormitories, as well as those at work sites that are currently in construction, process sectors and marine shipyards, said the Singaporean authorities on Friday.

According to the authorities,  workers carrying the tokens, known as BluePass tokens, with them at all times will help minimize work disruptions in the event of positive COVID-19 cases being identified because only close contacts will be isolated.

The device can be worn on the laborers’ wrists like a watch so that it will not disrupt their work.

The tokens can also assess the extent of interaction among the employers, which can help them understand what they can do to minimize potential COVID-19 transmission.
